Dog Friendly Hay On Wye
We recognise that many holiday makers are seeking dog friendly cottages in Hay on Wye offering top class luxury holiday houses that welcome dogs without compromising style, quality or cleanliness. At our Riverside town houses we appreciate this and want our dog owning clients to enjoy what we have to offer without the stress of leaving their animals in the care of other people. At our dogs-welcome riverside retreats, our focus is on providing stylish and immaculate accommodations for our clients to enjoy with or without their dogs, and to do this without compromising the very high standards we set for our holiday properties.
We have made two of our three riverside properties available to pet owners with number 26 Millbank kept free of animals so that clients with dog-related allergies can feel at home. We do not feel that our town centre apartments, at 12 Market Street, are suitable for dogs.
In our first two years we chose not to charge for dogs or to require a deposit. In the main this has worked well with dog owning clients rebooking, and without causing damage or difficulties. However a small minority did not honour our conditions and this has occasionally led to additional cleaning or replacement or redecoration costs.
As a consequence we continue to accept bookings from responsible dog owners on payment of a deposit of £100 per booking. This is refunded immediately after your stay provided that our pet owning guests honour the conditions. We want clients wishing to bring their animals to feel welcome, and for this reason Hay Retreats is continuing with our policy of not charging a nightly fee per animal.
One of the conditions requests pet owners to bring suitable bedding, baskets and food bowls. The dog photos on this page were kindly made available by Collarways. Their owners sell high quality pet accessories and we were therefore able to view their lovely products when they booked to stay at Hay Retreats in 2011. They said:
"Hay Riverside Retreat is a great place to stay when, like us, you prefer to travel with your dog. The walk along the river with the dogs is one we enjoyed every day during our stay."
